The Unit was raised in Melbourne. It moved to Alice Springs on 6 February 1944 and Winnellie 3 March 1944. It had detachments at Parap, Noonamah and Adelaide River. The Unit returned to Melbourne on 31 March 1945 and was disbanded on 2 July 1945.,
